There are now just over five days left (from today, August 2nd) to enter work in most of the awards categories at the UK Music Video Awards 2018, the premiere awards show for music video creativity in Britain and beyond.

This includes fifteen Best Video awards, with each music genre – Pop, Dance, Indie/Rock, Alternative and Urban – each offering three awards: one for UK, International and Newcomer videos. Here are all the Best Video categories:

Best Pop Video _ UK
Best Pop Video _ International
Best Pop Video _ Newcomer

Best Dance Video _ UK
Best Dance Video _ International
Best Dance Video _ Newcomer

Best Indie/Rock Video _ UK
Best Indie/Rock Video _ International
Best Indie/Rock Video _ Newcomer

Best Alternative Video _ UK
Best Alternative Video _ International
Best Alternative Video _ Newcomer

Best Urban Video _ UK
Best Urban Video _ International
Best Urban Video _ Newcomer

Each video can only be entered into one of the above categories. A UK award is given to a video for a UK artist, an International award is given to a video for a non-UK artist, and a Newcomer award is given to a video for either a UK or International artist made for a budget under GB£6,000 (or non-sterling equivalent), and are all categories designed to recognise newcomer directing talent.

Each video has to be have been completed and delivered to the commissioning company between the dates of August 1st 2017 and July 31st 2018.  

Find out more information about all the award categories on the categories page of the UKMVAs website. Then go to the enter now page of the website to enter a video in any of these categories, or in the Technical Achievement, Interactive, Live, Individual and Company categories. The final entry deadline to enter work is next Tuesday, August 7th at midnight BST. 

The first round of judging for this year’s MVAs begins approximately a week after the entry deadline – invitations to Jury Members to participate in the online judging round on the MVA judging platform have been sent out in the past few days.

And the UK Music Video Awards 2018 ceremony and aftershow party takes place for the third year running at the legendary Roundhouse in London on Thursday, October 25th 2018. Information about tickets for the show are coming soon.
