Nimrod Shapira has directed a well shot, emotionally resonant video for Israeli indie rocker Ninet's song Child, reflecting the song's theme about the difficulties of letting go. Ninet's performance is near-silhouetted into an action sequence with a young man running through a forest, at first seemingly being chased. But when he follows and picks up a fast-moving rope, her perfers to stumble and be dragged by it than to release it.

Shot in upstate New York in autumn, the setting is gorgeous - accentuated by numerous overhead drone shots – and the action sequence featuring stuntman/actor Zachary Huber, nicely captured by DoP Eyal Bau Cohen.

NIMROD SHAPIRA:

"In this music video I explored the obsession of a person, as he is trying with all his strength to stay attached to a perception, an emotion, a lover. The character in the music video does not grasp the way his inability to let go is hurting him. His pride blinds him and his fear of change is greater than the pain inflicted on him by his choices.

"He continues to chase a pipe dream of a thing that he will never achieve – and quite possibly never had."
