A new online platform has launched called Scouty, offering a new way to discover and book film and photo shoot locations in London and around the UK.

The platform at scouty.com has been designed to streamline the process of searching, viewing and booking locations, so producers can secure the ideal location for their shoots within a few clicks. Furthermore, it is free to use for producers using the service, and music video makers have already been enjoying the benefits of using the platform.

Founded by Ryan Gannon and Nico Doeser, and launched in September 2020, Scouty has hundreds of locations, available to view and book via the marketplace format on the website. For each location producers can see pictures, a description, a list of features and even a price per hour. Once the perfect location is found, a booking request for the required date and time can be sent.

“We’ve created Scouty, our platform for photo and film locations, to make life easier for producers," says Ryan Gannon. “Location scouting can be stressful and time-consuming. On Scouty you can explore hundreds of locations in the UK that can be booked in minutes. Our aim is to make it easier and more inclusive, helping both established companies and newcomers that want to kickstart their creative paths.”

Scouty doesn’t charge producers any fees when booking a location, underlaying their aim to make booking locations more inclusive and more affordable. Gannon estimates that producers can save 20% on average over an location agency by using the service. Meanwhile, property owners who are interested in making their property available to be used as locations, are invited to 'become a host' and upload their details.

Productions that have made use of the platform include those by the BBC, West One Entertainment, Lowkey Films, Biscuit Bunker, Warpaint For Men and others, for music videos, commercials, fashion shoots, TV shows and films. Scouty's music video credits so far include the Lowkey-produced video for Fredo ft Dave's Money Talks, and The Vamps' Would You
