Shaheen is not blessed with pop star looks, but he has a big voice, and this a very well made pop video by Orlando Cubitt for the lushly romantic Last Train Home.
Alan Pownall’s Chasing Time by Orlando Cubitt
Orlando combines a spot of Britflick drama with Alan's performance - a tale of two lovers against the world which is very nicely paced, and nicely shot by Dan Stafford-Clark. North London looking particularly pretty in the morning light. How did they manage to make it stop bloody raining
Orlando Cubitt on making the video for Alan Pownall's Chasing Time
"Instead of throwing the kitchen sink at the track I wanted to shoot one event well, focussing on the details of the moment. We were lucky that we had one of the sunniest days this year to shoot the video and the whole video was shot in less than twelve hours.
"We transformed the cafe with a bit of gingham and the characterful cafe owner Giovanni stepped up to the plate to play himself. Alan was keen for as much non-sync as possible so we cast the inimitable Cara Delevigne as his romantic foil and the two played off each other superbly on the day.
"The DoP Dan Stafford-Clark dug out some old Nikon lenses and gave the 7D footage a really sweet soft flarey look in-camera with Ben Rogers from Glassworks finishing the film with a beautiful subtle grade. Also I've got to give props to the Jensen Interceptor that is arguably the star of the show!"
