Luke Tierney - 4th Sept 2014

Grimes is back with Go, and the video - co-directed by Grimes (aka Claire Boucher) with her brother Mac, under the monicker Roco-Prime - swings between the desert-set fantasy (picking up from her Brooke Candy-featuring video for Genesis), and Nineties-style day-go club footage, where Claire bears a passing resemblance to Lady GaGa. Or even Ray of Light-era Madonna.

Inspired by everything from Dante's Inferno to X Men and Dune, as she explains on her tumblr, Claire is also credited as art director, stylist, editor and colourist on the video. That is what you call an artist in control.
