Aella Jordan-Edge puts new indie-pop combo The Snuts through their paces in the video for Elephants, culminating in a suitably mammoth challenge.
Leena Ojala 'Why' by Aella Jordan-Edge
Having previously worked in production, Aella Jordan-Edge marks her directing debut with this video for Why by Finnish-English singer-songwriter Leena Ojala.
It's a nostalgic clip about a girl who has flown the nest, sown some wild oats, and then returned to her childhood home. The video explores how she feels returning to her father, after having been estranged from him for many years.
"I remember literally running up Kite Hill to catch the light for the Heath scenes, which we’d saved for the sunset, and were our last. We just about caught it and those shots with Stephen and Angharad are some of my favourites. Their chemistry was amazing and one of the things the actors really understood was the power play. Angharad is the focal point all the way through, mirroring Leena’s strength and dynamism.
"Actually both Ian and I had huge bites all over our legs and back after shooting the Heath scenes. We had been crouching low in the long grass with the camera looking up, and some bugs had a field day biting us to shreds!"
