Aurora 'Half The World Away' by Kenny McCracken
After the now-traditional unveiling of the John Lewis Christmas ad, comes the traditional tie-in video for the song used in the commercial - a cover version of a fairly well-known song by an up-and-coming artist, as tradition demands.
In fact, this delicate version of Oasis's Half A World Away by Aurora, is pretty good, and the video directed by Kenny McCracken is suitably minimal and elegant accompaniment. McCracken directed a stark and sombre piece for the young singer's Murder Song, but stylistically this is a long way from that, more of a dreamy, angelic, yet cinematic vision (very nicely shot by Tony C Miller) focussing upon Aurora's strikingly blue gaze.
