Jack Whiteley brings us a scintillating video for Spring King that turns the performance into the narrative. Centring around drummer and frontman Tarek Musa and his journey from solo project to full band using a variety of aspect ratios to tell the tale.

"Spring King are good friends of mine and I’ve watched them as they’ve grown from a DIY solo project to a signed, four-piece band. For me, one of their unique selling points is that their drummer, Tarek, is also their frontman and lead singer. So I wanted to do a video that centred on his performance and really captured the amazing energy that him and the rest of the guys bring to their performing.

"The other thing I wanted to explore was the use of multiple aspect ratios but do it in a way that served the story. I always loved the way the aspect ratio changed in the film Mommy according to whether the characters felt trapped or free. So the way we’ve used it here is that the aspect ratio increases in width as the band grows in size and scale over the duration of the video.

"I’d just like to say a huge thanks to our fantastic crew who worked very hard to bring the video to life!"
