16-bit animation is not the most likely medium for a feminist/anticapitalist polemic but Chris Fequiere delivers exactly that for Brooklyn outfit Slut Magic.
Dan Freeman And The Serious 'Dagner' by Michael Fragstein
Stuttgart-based director/animator Michael Fragstein completed this rather strange yet wonderful video for Dagner, by Dan Freeman And The Serious a few months ago. It took a year to complete, so its about time it s found its way here.
And it really is a marvellous thing (and devilishly difficult to describe). Suffice to say, it involves a very distinctive use of 3D scanning, where anonymous individuals' helplessness is highlighted by the abstract world in which they find themselves.
