Raine Allen-Miller uses the motifs of classical religious painting and gives them a contemporary relevance in her video for Denai Moore.

As the camera moves out from Denai's face, she is revealed as the central figure in a tableaux featuring characters each representing different aspects of the human condition. The symbolic nature of these characters is reinforced by bursts of animation and finally, the arrival of balloon sharks floating above the scene.

"Anxiety is a strange thing, that grows and comes in many forms. The Tableux, snippets of those forms - touching on anger, love, fear, fragility - but most importantly images that can be perceived in different ways, as anxiety is so subjective. I wanted to shoot it like a modern Renaissance – cinematic yet painterly, with Denai as the focus."
