PROMONEWS PREMIERE: The new episode of Cut+Run's BTS series Ruthless Cuts has C+R's Martin Macnamara interviewing director Femi Ladi, Cut+ Run editor Nick Armstrong and sound designer Jack Hallett on their work on the Blue: Winter's Only Winner video for South London singer-rapper A2.

Femi tells Martin how he went down a 'visual mixtape' rotue for the project, and crossed between styles from traditional music video to live performance and drama - and the difficulty of shooting with a crane indoors to get the overhead shot he craved.

Nick Armstrong explains how the edit took a different stylistic approca to each of the five tracks featured in the video, from jump-cut to cod-style to traditional music video editing - and also why they brought sound designer Jack Hallett at an early stage of the process.

This episode is No.8 in the Ruthless Cuts series, produced at Cut+Run in London, and premiered on Promonews.
