Sega Bodega 'Kisses 2 My Phone' by Tash Tung
Tash Tung directs, and casts herself, in an introspective, intimate and direct response to self care with 'kisses 2 my phone,' commissioned by 4:3 Boiler Room and Sega Bodega as part of his self*care project.
This was a project that challenged the director in various ways - as she explains below. It also approaches an interesting and important issue in a very appealing fashion and works on different levels - as thought-provoking piece on the idea of self-care, and seductively shot visual for the track.
TASH TUNG:
"The concept couldn’t have come into clearer focus over the making of this film, when I was going through a lot personally and professionally. It was as much about challenging myself to be in front of the camera on the day, as it is about continually learning to be okay with my image and my movement.
"I loved referencing the project and Sega Bodega in the film, creating a meta loop of self care; something eternal and ritualistic."
SEGA BODEGA:
"I'm always interested to hear the different ways people look after themselves, mentally or physically; the things they do to not feel shit. Even though sometimes it's obvious their own self care may actually be more damaging than good. I'm also interested in film and soundtracks and this project served as a total combination, to give filmmakers as much creative control as possible and waiting to see what came back."
