Jurdan Bryant 'Words For Thomas' by Alonzo Hellerbach
Baltimore-based director Alonzo Hellerbach creates an impressionistic patchwork of ordinary life in his hometown for Jurdan Bryant.
Employing mixed visual media - film in colour and monochrome, and photography - as well as sound design, Hellerbach builds an inspiring insight into the world of a closely knit community. It's authentic, but he's also not afraid to experiment with visual ideas (and the use of silence) to defy expectations.
The purpose is to honour the memory of Thomas, a friend of Bryant who passed away, and the subject of the track. In doing this it displays the distinctive aesthetic. A new director to look out for.
