Oh Baby 'What We Do' by Mark Lediard
Oh Baby revisit past memories in the thumping video for What We Do, directed by Mark Lediard.
Written as the first track for their debut album, What We Do is the band's attempt to create the sound of memories that seem to stay in certain physical spaces. As a duo, they are just as inspired by buildings, rooms, and places as other people or other sounds. This is evident in the visual, which focuses on a young girl listening to the music through her headphones as she explores an urban environment. Her gaze is focused on small details such as the buzzing vibration of a fluorescent light, or the style of clothing someone wears. She isn't looking at the people or the face, she is much more drawn to the abstract.
Ross Marshall does a stellar job with the cinematography, focusing in on the hustle and bustle, with close-ups of the aforementioned details, composing the shots in such a way that mirrors the girl's gaze. Great fun and a perfect pairing to the upbeat track.
