Blackbear 'Hot Girl Bummer' by Adam Powell
Adam Powell delivers an alternate video for Blackbear's teen-rebel anthem Hot Girl Bummer, with a significantly higher budget and ambitious concept to boot.
Taking a shot at a society full of fashion wannabes and "edgy" influencers, the track and accompanying visual give a very literal 'f*** you' to the current zeitgeist. Packed full of dystopian iconography and styling, the dark elements of the music are represented through moody cinematography, glitchy VFX and hauntingly desolate locations.
Powell's talent for blurring the line between mainstream and the avant-garde is very much on show throughout this video, and this juxtaposition creates an engaging visual world in which Blackbear thrives.
