L.A. Rochelle 'No More (Encore)' by Gwil Doe
The L.A. Rochelle project and pseudonym - and this collaboration with Gwil Doe - were born from tragedy: the murder of one the artist's flatmates by another.
The pair were hiding their homosexual relationship, driven to secrecy due to one partner’s fear of the judgment that would come with revealing his sexuality to his family.
This tragedy is expressed through dance - a kinetic performance, shot in a church and on a beach, featuring one dancer who is intermittently joined by a second dancer, acting as an echo or mirror-image to his own movement.
"This music video is dedicated to a friendship that brutally ended with two people who changed my life forever," says L.A. Rochelle, who is now working with Gwil Doe on a short film about these tragic events, to be released in 2021.
