Purple Disco Machine + Sophie And The Giants 'Hypnotized' by Mary Rozzi
Mary Rozzi directs a hyperactive, 80's-inspired promo for Purple Disco Machine + Sophie And The Giants.
Packed full of VFX trickery, created from footage shot in Germany, the UK and US, the visual for Hypnotized pays homage to early greenscreen music videos, reminiscent of Deee-lite's The Groove Is In The Heart, with a contemporised, glitchy aesthetic.
The distorted VHS vibe exudes nostalgic charm, zipping along at a breakneck speed as it unravels layer upon layer of energetic performance.
MARY ROZZI:
This production was a global dance party.
"I loved stepping into a VFX hypnotic space with these two amazing artists. This production was a global dance party, a multi-process shoot, captured remotely and assembled via pit stops in Dresden, Berlin, London, Sheffield and Los Angeles.
"Our cut-and-paste style allowed for a ton of improv and experimentation and we had a blast."
