David Bertram explores destruction and rebirth in his stunning video for London-based up and comer Wassailer, entirely shot at home during Covid lockdown.

Featuring a cast of kids dressed head-to-toe in post-Apocalyptic garments, the brilliant visual for Son presents an alternate perspective of a near-future catastrophe, where children have to fend for themselves and protect what's theirs.

Shot in cinematic monochrome, the gritty aesthetic elevates the dichotomy of youth and and old age, innocence and guilt. Doubling up as DoP as well as director, Bertram has negotiated breathtaking performances from each of the young cast, anchoring the concept in a devastating reality, which mirrors many of the issues in our current zeitgeist.
