Chelou 'Not The Man I Thought' by Gilbert Bannerman
Gilbert Bannerman directs a haunting visual for Chelou, constructed from distorted 3D-scans.
Inspired by ancient history and lost civilisations, we are taken on an anachronistic trip through impossibly vast fantasy lands, led by a camera that effortlessly weaves from one environment to the next.
Made from a hybrid of VFX, CGI and 3D-scans, the video is scattered with kaleidoscopic intermissions, which take a dizzying lunge toward the uncanny before gliding to the next world.
Stunningly abstract and otherwordly, the video lives between virtual reality and the real world, and feels like a visualisation of an out-of-body experience.
