Shame 'Water In The Well' by Pedro Takahashi

Pedro Takahashi experiments with multiple visual formats in his punchy promo for Shame. 

Opening in the middle of a field - like many great videos do - Takahashi plays with match-cuts and lo-fi textures to create a maximalist aesthetic, gradually building in pace as the video progresses.  

Mirroring the dichotomy of isolation and overexposure that is omnipresent in modern society, the group's spontaneous performance setups are intercut with a barrage of snapshots, depicting our obsession with technology and its effects upon us.

"I decided to explore how it is possible to be physically present yet simultaneously in multiple locations at the same time," says Pedro Takahashi. "The internet and our phones mean we are always hooked up to a global network, allowing us to be connected to people and places all over the world. It is becoming increasingly difficult for us to switch off and exist solely in the here and now. I wanted to take these ideas and have fun with them - whilst allowing the band’s inimitable energy and charisma to take centre stage."
