Susie Vanner 'Cry Me A River' (Live) by Gregg Houston
Former Bond girl Susie Vanner is captured in a stunning one-shot video by Gregg Houston, performing Cry Me A River from her debut album release.
Bathed in golden light, Vanner soaks up the electric energy of the performance, confidently showcasing her musical chops. DoP Darren Ladbury and team do a great job with the blocking and camera movement, allowing the concept to unfold organically throughout the four-minute runtime.
GREGG HOUSTON:
I'm blown away by the execution of the team on this one.
"2020 has been a surreal year. Forgetting about the sadness of the pandemic and nightmare of lockdown the surprises have come in other ways too.
"A couple of months ago I was contacted about filming a former Bond girl who after a lifetime in the limelight was inspired to release her debut album following some turbulent changes in her personal life.
"I didn’t know what to expect but we got a beautiful location in Notting Hill and captured this track on the night. Despite so much experience in front of the camera there were nerves as to whether a one shot with live vocals and piano was going to be achievable as it has been many years since she performed.
"This is take 2, and the final take of the night. We shot it twice as we wanted to change the camera movement. Afterwards Susie said she could do it better but in reality we were the ones that couldn’t. Blown away by the execution of the team on this one."
