Simon Lane directs an exceptional live performance video for singer-songwriter Douglas Dare, shot within the beautiful St John of Jerusalem Church in Hackney, London.

Dare emerges from the church pews in an ivory-white ballgown to glide towards the musicians of the London Contemporary Orchestra, whilst singing the nursery rhyme-influenced Heavenly Bodies, in a consummately choreographed single take.

This was filmed on Super 16mmm, and Lane and his DoP Jake Gabbay have achieved a stunning visual quality for the piece. It sets the bar high for achievement in cinematography in the year ahead.
