Nick Wilson 'Lead Me To The Water' by Franklin & Marchetta
Directing duo Bjorn Franklin and Johnny Marchetta reunite with Nick Wilson for the emotional promo for Lead Me To The Water.
Starring actors Tom Brittney and Lucy Aarden, the video explores a mysterious narrative between the pair, raising questions about the nature of their relationship, and if it's being led by love, lust or something else entirely.
Splitting time between a dimly-lit hotel and a beautiful beach, the video is very much open to interpretation in its themes, and the abstract nature of the concept is elevated by impressive 3D VFX and stylised cinematography.
FRANKLIN & MARCHETTA:
Tom and Lucy completely embraced the nature of what we were shooting.
"Right from the off, we both knew Lead Me To The Water needed to be a narratively led video. The melody and lyrics had such intensity and drama, a human-led story felt like the only approach.
"We’ve done several videos for Nick now, and we’re still blown away by the amount of creative freedom he gives us. Every time we work with him, we have one real goal in mind - try to create a mini-film in three and a half minutes.
"In our last video we Incorporated a small amount of CGI. For this one, we wanted to push that a little further in having our protagonist turn into water. We worked with an amazing team on this, which meant working through extensive stages over the course of three weeks to realise the final result.
"We’ve often felt, combining moments of CGI in predominantly, narrative-led videos is something we are drawn to. There is a beautiful juxtaposition when it all comes together and where we want to focus our future work.
"We owe a huge thanks to Tom Brittney and Lucy Aarden for their incredible performances in the video. They threw themselves into the role and completely embraced the nature of what we were shooting. They totally brought to life what we had in our minds from the beginning and pushed the boundaries of what we thought was possible.
"Luckily Tom doesn’t hold it against us for throwing him in the sea in mid-February. All for the art, right?"
